Ogbeh Applauds FG’s New Plan For Niger Delta

The Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development – Chief Audu Ogbeh has commended the recently unveiled Federal Government’s plan for the Niger Delta region especially the modular refineries to be established, as announced by Vice President – Prof.  Yemi Osinbajo during his working visit to Bayelsa State.

“I congratulate the Vice President – Prof. Osinbajo for taking this bold step, which is the surest way to achieve lasting peace, equity and development in the region. This laudable initiative has always been my view. I believe that operating modular refineries will create the enabling environment that would promote local refining of crude oil, provide us the opportunity to export refined oil and generate more revenue from the sector. This is good news that should gladden the hearts of Nigerians and especially people of the Niger Delta region.” Chief Ogbeh stated.

The minister added that with peace and stability in the Niger Delta, youth restiveness will be greatly reduced and the region can fully explore and utilize its rich agricultural potentials thereby contributing to the nation’s food self-sufficiency drive.
